Maya Pedal is a non-profit group that recycles old bicycles (bicicletas) and turns them into useful maquinas or machines.
These people are so ingenious. Out of necessity to meet the daily challenges of life in Central America, they are now pedaling power to operate radios, grind corn, pump water from wells and run washing machines. Sometimes we think we are making progress. I’m not so sure. Seems to me that these bicimaquina riders are riding on something far more than a rebuilt bike.
